DKI Provincial Government Modifies TRM Phase 2 Routes at HI-City Roundabouts

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Phase two of the rapid transit route has been modified.

Based on the results of the DKI governor's limited meeting in Jakarta held on 9 October, the Jakarta MRT route is the second phase, namely the roundabout corridor of Jakarta. Hotel Indonesia (HI).

Previously, the second phase of the MRT was to serve the Bandan HI-Village roundabout road.

The road change was issued by Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, No. 1728 of 2018, concerning the determination of locations for the construction of the MRT City Circle Roundabout Circle on November 21, 2018.

PT MRT General Manager Jakarta, William P Sabandar, said the change of phase two of the MRT route would not alter the purpose of completion of the construction.

"We are still finishing in 2024. Changes have been made to the route because the provincial government of DKI Jakarta has decided to prepare. Well"The first stage begins between the HI roundabout and the city," said William at Dukuh Atas station in central Jakarta on Thursday (29.11.2018).

Nevertheless, the TD MRT Jakarta was unable to decide on the location of the railway depot.

"The city is not a deposit.The deposit has not been decided yet, but we have already discussed it.It waits more than the government's decision to stay in Kampung Bandan or at BMW stadium, "said William.

"The most important thing loan agreement for phase two, the development of MRTs has been signed. "Next year, we will complete the first phase and start the second phase of construction," he continued.

The progress of the first phase of the Jakarta MRT project through Lebak Bulus-Bundaran HI reached 97.57%.

The first phase of the MRT should be fully operational by March 2019.
