Very tired, finally landing at another airport
Dream – We often fall asleep while boarding a plane, especially during long flights. As a pbadenger, it is normal.
But what if the sleeping person is the pilot, to miss the landing destination? The incident was actually suffered by a charter flight owned by Vortex Air on 9 November.
The plane that flew from Devonport City in Tasmania to King Island had been forgotten from the destination airport to 46 km because the pilot had fallen asleep.
City of the page stuff.co.nzOn Wednesday, November 28, 2018, the pilot of the single-engine Piper PA-31 aircraft fell asleep in the badpit. When the plane pbaded the destination airport at 7:15, no one called him back.
Neil Hansford, flight consultant at Strategic Aviation Solutions, explained that it had been confirmed at the time that the aircraft was using the autopilot facility.
In autopilot, if the pilot falls asleep, the plane continues to fly until all the fuel is exhausted.
