The majority of people who signed the letter were Google software or software technicians. This open letter also follows in the footsteps of an internal letter written earlier this year with 1,400 signatures.
This open letter contains the rejection of the Dragonfly project which is predicted as returnGoogle in China. The American technology giant will produce a Chinese version of the search engine that is supposed to block a number of search terms.
In addition, Dragonfly will ensure that the government oversees searches by Google users in China. Google has been reluctant to open several times its voice about Dragonfly. They only stated that the project was exploratory and had no connection with the publication of search engines in China.
"Our opposition to Dragonfly is not about China, we reject strong and oppressive technologies that are weak, wherever they are.This project is very dangerous, especially for the ever-changing political world," he said. the representative of Google employees in an open letter.
