GP Ansor excuses for flag burning incidents

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Ansor (Ansor), Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, head of the Ansor Youth Movement, apologizes if the flag burned by the Banser commemorating Santri National Day in Limbangan, Garut, West Java, raised an uproar public.

"I am the general chairman of GP Ansor on behalf of the organization and all executives.I apologize to the entire community if what our executives do causes noise and We apologize for that, "Yaqut told the Ansor GP building in Jakarta on Wednesday (24/10/2018).

Yaqut revealed that Banser's three individuals were also excused personally for their actions.

Yaqut said, GP Ansor has supported the judicial process against the alleged perpetrators of the flag fire. In addition, GP Ansor will also continue to provide legal badistance.

"We are going to provide badistance, we have prepared it and several hundred people are ready to accompany them," he said.

At the same time, the Secretary General GP Ansor Abdul Rochman said that his party regretted this action, because it violated the standard operating procedures and the instructions of the general president GP Ansor.

"It is forbidden to unilaterally burn HTI flags for any reason.Any action to control the attributes of HTI must be done in coordination with the security apparatus," Abdul said.

GP Ansor will also give a warning to the person because it caused a public outcry.
