DENPASAR, KOMPAS.com – The volcanic activity of Gunung Agung located in the Regency of Karangasem, Bali, continues to improve.
After continuing to emit smoke and volcanic ash throughout the afternoon of Thursday (28/06/2018), the night saw a ray of fire on the summit of the Mountain.
Even the ray of fire can be seen from Mount Agung Post in the village of Rendang which is 12 kilometers from the top of the mountain.
The smoke of the crater is medium to high of 2500 meters above the crater. Meanwhile, the ashes continue to spread in the direction of the wind to the west and southwest.
The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) establishes the level of activity of Gunung Agung at level III (Siaga).
In addition PVMBG also recommends communities around Mount Agung, climbers, visitors and tourists to avoid climbing or other activities within a radius of 4 km dangerous area from the top of the mountain .
Volcano volcanic activity also affects the flight activity of and at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport was closed due to the impact of volcanic ash from the Mount Agung eruption.
Closing is completed from Friday, June 29th, 2013 at 03.00 Wita. The closure should last until 19:00. However, this closure will continue to be evaluated as the state of Mount Agung develops.
