If Prabowo-Sandiaga wins, vice-president of BPN proposes only 11 ministries

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Mardani Ali Sera, vice president of the National Winning Organization (BPN) Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno, encouraged the ministry to streamline its activities.

In the current Cabinet of Government Work Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla, there are 34 ministries, of which four are ministries of coordination.

He said that of this number could be reduced to only 11 ministries.

"In order for the future government to be more effective, I propose that the ministries be streamlined." Of the 34 agencies equivalent to the other ministries, it should be merged into eleven ministries, "said Mardani in a written statement Wednesday (28/11/2018 ).

Mardani said the proposal was his personal proposal. However, he hoped that Prabowo-Sandiaga could implement it when he won the 2019 presidential election.

According to him, an ad hoc body can be formed to manage this transition of personnel.

He acknowledged the need for great energy to achieve this, for example by removing or revising a number of laws relating to the existence and performance of the ministry.
