"The airport is for Yogyakarta's economic growth. If you leave the airport, you get the toll, Yogyakarta can do it.We can not get anything, just eat it," said the Sultan after having attended the Syawalan event at Kulon Progo on Wednesday (06/19/2019).

The sultan has indeed questioned the existence of the toll road, whether or not it is beneficial to the community.
"For toll roads, it's worth talking about, if the people of Kulon Progo do not get anything, why should they build a toll road, and do the airports build," he said.
Kulon Regent Progo Hasto Wardoyo said his office had determined four main routes to the airport.
From Yogya to Karangnongko Wates which is a national highway, the Southern Cross Road (JJLS), Daendels Road, and train.
"So (the airport) can be reached via Jalan Daendels, JJLS, via the national highways and then use the train. The Daendels road will eventually pbad under the airport terminal," Hasto said while saluting the media team yesterday.
