Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is targeting the inauguration of the toll road connecting Jakarta to Surabaya by the end of the year.
The Jakarta-Surabaya toll road is part of the Trans Java toll road segment that should be connected from Merak to Banyuwangi.
One of the companies involved in the Trans Java project is the Astra group, through PT Astra Tol Nusantara, which is under the Astra Infra flag. The group participates in a quarter of the development of Trans Java.
Djap Tet Fa, President and CEO of Astra Tol Nusantara, said that until now, Astra Infra has secured concessions on the entire 302 km that are part of the Trans Java toll road. This figure is divided into several toll roads in Banten, West Java, Central Java and East Java.
From the western tip of the island of Java, Astra Infra is involved in the Tangerang-Merak toll project, of a length of 72.4 km, which is now operational. "PT Astra Tol Nusantara holds 79.3% of the capital, the rest being divided between 7 other shareholders," he said in Jakarta on Tuesday (27.11.2018).
In addition, Astra Infra also holds a 45% interest in the 116.8 km Cikopo – Palimanan toll road (Cipali). "Cipali is very important, it is necessary for logistics and the movement of people, especially when returning home," said Djap Tet Fa.
