VIVA – President Joko Widodo attended the closing of the National Singers Festival 2018. The event was organized by the Indonesian Institute of Arts and Qasidah (LAQSI) at Pondok Gede Hajj dormitory in Jakarta on Thursday 29th November 2018.
Jokowi revealed on this occasion that the kasidah had been transformed over time. He also claimed to have heard kasidah music since he was in school.
"Nasida Ria in the '70s and' 80s. The latest is the Sabyan youth-led group and Nissa Sabyan, only 19 or 20 years old," said Jokowi.
Jokowi said that the Sabyan group as a millennial group of Kasidah was phenomenal. In fact, he watched Sabyan's video via Youtube and was surprised by the number of viewers.
"It's almost as much as the Indonesian population," he said.
In addition, the former mayor of Solo memorized the title of the song and had the opportunity to sing some of his poems.
"His famous song Deen Assalam, no? (Singing) Abtahiyyat wabsalam, ansyuru ahlal kalam zainuddin yahtirom. Already, I only memorized referrals. Then the voices sound better, "he says, humming.
According to him, kasidah songs testify to a great value of Islamic moral values.
"Try if we interpret the precedent, Abtahiyyat Wabsalam, by noble and peaceful behavior. So ansyuru ahlal kalam jainuddin yahtirom, spread sweet words, "he said.
