Kalla is sure that the examination of Dahnil Anzar is not related to the presidential election

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Vice President Jusuf Kalla believes that the examination of the president of Muhammadiya youth, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, in the case of alleged irregularities in Islamic youth camps was not related to the Presidential election of 2019.

Kalla acknowledged that currently, Dahnil was the spokesman for the winning body of the presidential candidate and vice-presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno. But he believed in an independent police when Dahnil's examination.

"Yes, of course, the police did not mean that, but it happened by chance, but once again, the process must be truly open and fair," Kalla told the vice office. President, Jakarta, Tuesday (27/11/2018).

He said that every citizen had to follow the legal procedure when he stumbled on a case. Kalla urged all parties to respect the legal process until clear evidence is obtained.

For her part, Kalla has asked the transparent police to take legal action against Dahnil so as not to arouse the suspicions of the public.

"All citizens of this country, including you, if there are legal problems, they must participate, but the process must also be transparent and there must be enough evidence," continued Kalla.

Previously, Dahnil considered his summons to appear as a witness to the alleged corruption case related to the activities of the Indonesian Islamic Youth Camp of 2017. This was a consequence of his attitude to criticizing the government.
