JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Director of Biodiversity Conservation of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (KLHK) Indra Exploitasia said that the emergence of a number of crocodiles in several places in Jakarta does not have any effect. is not related to natural events.

Estuary crocodiles recently reported in two areas of Jakarta, namely Grogol West Jakarta and Pondok Dung Pond in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. The two areas are not the natural habitats of estuarine crocodiles.

"But it's not an anomaly or a natural occurrence or what is baseball. It's because it happens like this," Indra said at a meeting in Grogol. River, West Jakarta, Wednesday (27/6/2018) yesterday.

Indra said, there are four supposed origins of these crocodiles.

First, the sudden floods that occurred in Jakarta in 2006 resulted in a number of crocodiles being bred in captivity. Crocodiles roaming freely breed outside their habitat.

Secondly, the crocodile is kept residents, and then deliberately released the citizens.

Third, the crocodile leaves its natural habitat to explore other feeding areas.

Fourth, the crocodile is detached from captivity.

For the last reason, KLHK examined crocodiles in the regions of Cikande and Serang. The captive breeder said that there were no crocodiles in the wild. In addition, the distance between the two breeding sites is very far from the location of the appearance of crocodiles.

"That's why we evacuate to find out if this is true of nature or even captivity, or if it is released by people, it will be seen from its morphology if it is maintained or from nature, he will be seen once ".
