KUALA LUMPUR, Kompas.com – Malaysian single Lee Chong Wei won the badminton tournament in Malaysia for the 12th time beating Kento Momota in the final on Sunday (01/07/2018). The 35-year-old won two games 21-17, 23-21 in the 70-minute final at Bukit Jalil Stadium. This is the first title after the last win in 2016.

Overall, Chong Wei won 12 times the Malaysian Open in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 , 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, 2016 and 2018

This is also the first Chong Wei title this season. While for the Japanese player, world champion number 11, the defeat stopped the unbeaten in 21 games.
