LG Patents 3 Names for Folding Screen Phones

Later, LG is known to have patented three names that are supposed to be used as foldable cell phone brand manufactured by him. The three are Flex, Foldi and Duplex.

The difference in this patent is revealed by LetsGoDigital, a technology leak site. As a summary KompasTeknoOn Monday (26/11/2018), the patent was registered at the Patent Office of the European Union (EUIPO) last week.

The three names are included in the category smartphone (clbad 9) that can be used for folding or conventional screen cell phones.

The name "Flex", which could come from the word "Flexible", has actually been used by LG on mobile phones with flexible screen technology, namely G Flex and G Flex 2, each launched in 2013 and 2015.

It is interesting to note that Samsung has also used the "Flex" appendix on its recent folding mobile phone.

Although it has already been used, LG seems to have to re-submit the patent name if you want to use the same name for flip-screen phones in the future.

LG is not obliged to use any patented names. The label of the flip phone series can be selected from one of three names. There are also allegations that the three names will be used for several types of devices.

The name "LG Duplex", for example, is supposed to be smartphone "dual display" "which may double up and down (at the back).

Meanwhile, "LG Foldi" could be in the form of a "foldable screen" device, ie a flexible screen that can be folded inwards. LG itself has not provided official information on the flip-screen devices that will be marketed.

The collapsible phone manufactured by LG will be on display at CES 2019 in Las Vegas, United States, in early January next year.
