Meet Maruli Simanjuntak, Luhut's son-in-law who became the commander of the Paspampres

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Chief of Staff of the IV Regional Military Command / Brigadier General Diponegoro, Maruli Simanjuntak, was promoted to Commander of the Presidential Security Force. Maruli replaced Major General (Mar) Suhartono, who was transferred to the position of Commander of the Marine Corps.

This rotation is based on the decree of the commander of the TNI, number Kep / 1240 / XI / 2018, signed by the commander of the TNI, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, Thursday (29/11/2018).

The Paspampres world is no stranger to graduates of the 1992 Military Academy.

Maruli has previously served as Group A Commander of Paspampres from 2014 to 2016. Group A is a group directly attached to the President's security.

In October 2018, Maruli was again replaced by Kasdam IV / Diponegoro.

Only a month after taking office, Maruli is again promoted as commander of Paspampres. The new position has raised the rank on Maruli's shoulders to two stars or major generals (mayjen).

Maruli, son-in-law of Maritime Coordination Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, was also part of the Kopbadus and Chakra Infantry Detachment.
