JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – East Java governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa met with President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (18/06/2019).

At the meeting, Khofifah requested additional toll gates along the Trans Java toll road that crosses the province of East Java.

"All the points where the toll road was established have been conveyed by us, so that additional toll roads can be opened toll exit, "Said Khofifah after meeting with President Jokowi.

Khofifah argues that the addition of the exit toll gate will grow the economy of the region that has been outgrown. Indeed, many areas of East Java are industrial areas.

"Today, the industrial contribution of the regional domestic product (PRDG) from East Java to East Java accounts for about 29.8 to 30% of the industry, so East Java has become an industrial province", he declared.

The former Minister of Social Affairs said to be coordinating with a number of regional officials for the construction of new toll road gates, namely Regent Ngawi, Regent Madiun, Regent of Nganjuk and Regent of Probolinggo .

In addition, the provincial government of East Java has also proposed to add this toll exit to the Toll Road Management Agency (BPJT).

"For there to be an economy that will develop from the exit toll, which is proposed according to the mapping of the regents when we meet at the meeting points of Bakorwil," he said.

In addition to the additional exit toll, Khofifah also expressed the wish to build rail-based mbad transit means, such as MRT and LRT.

He hoped that this means of mbad transport could extend a number of areas, namely Gresik, Bangkalan, Mojokerto, Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Lamongan or more commonly abbreviated as Gerbangkertosusila.
