Old town equipped with a 5G connection during the 2018 Asian Games

It is expected that 5G service will be available for free from August 2018.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The provincial government (provincial government) of DKI Jakarta will test the installation of High speed internet connection in Kota Tua, West Jakarta. The trial of a fifth generation (5G / 5G) mobile telecommunication installation will take place during the 2018 Asian Games.

5G technology should have a speed of about 800 Gbps or a hundred times faster than the speed of the previous generation. With this density, 5G technology allows users to download 33 high definition movies in seconds.

Sandiaga explains that this test will be conducted in cooperation with PT XL Axiata. 5G technology will be installed with Allliance Wireless Gigabit Support (WiGig). WiGig is called a new era in the use of multi gigabit communication technology
