Jakarta – The competition for folding screen phones is increasingly animated by the Oppo project to introduce its own devices next year.

It is not so long ago, Oppo has filed a patent folding mobile phone design. Now, the patent will most likely become a reality after the announcement made by the Chinese seller.

An insider who held the position of product manager for the company had ensured that Oppo would introduce a folding screen phone next year. The Mobile World Congress 2019, to be held next February, will be the venue of its first appearance, according to The Verge, Friday (30/11/2018).

Unfortunately, it is the only information that he has revealed. There are no details on the specifications or the exact date of their appearance. Nevertheless, it is always interesting to wait what will the device look like.

In addition, they have two patents with two different designs of folding screen mobile phones. The one that has been registered recently, the concept is similar to Royole's FlexPai.

While the other is a bit unique. The Oppo folding screen phone is folded up and down, not left to right.

Although the shape of Oppo's flip-down mobile phone remains a mystery, one thing is sure, this sector will be tinged with fierce competition. At the very least, six big names, including Oppo, are already in the making of this device.

Samsung has shown its fold-down mobile phone. Huawei plans to launch a similar device before March 2019, when the South Korean supplier must start selling the gadget.

Not to mention LG, Lenovo and Xiaomi who already have their own prototypes. In addition, Google has encouraged the development of folding screen phones by releasing support for Android on devices whose screen size is changing. (Mon / Afr)
