OTT KPK, MA will verify the direction of the district courts of South Jakarta and East Jakarta

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The supervisory body of the Supreme Court (MA) will review the president of the South Jakarta District Court (PN) Arifin and the chairman of the East Jakarta District Court of Sumino.

The examination of these two files concerns the arrest operations of judges and clerks conducted by the Commission for the Eradication of Corruption.

The two judges who were named by the suspects and held by KPK served in the South Jakarta NP, namely Iswahyu Widodo and Irwan.

At the same time, the acting Registrar who was arrested in this case, namely Muhammad Ramadan, sat in the District Court of East Jakarta.

The spokesman of the MA, Suhadi, said that the monitoring body would badess whether the supervision of the president of the court was appropriate or not.

"It is the obligation to encourage and supervise its members, and so it is the supervisory body that will check if there has been a coaching and meeting. 39; others, "said Suhadi at a press conference at the Supreme Court office in Jakarta on Thursday (29.11.2018).

If the performance is not optimal and there is evidence that he is not supervising his ranks, the president of the NPC will face sanctions. The heaviest sanctions may be in the form of takedowns.

Conversely, if supervision has been optimal, the head of the court may be exempt from punishment even though the ranks of the judges and clerks below him are involved in legal matters.

"If the effort is done optimally, but that they always do (corruption), their superiors can escape the sanctions," said Suhadi.

Judges Iswahyu, Irwan and the clerk of Ramadhan were allegedly involved in bribes for the management of civil affairs. Ramadan would be an intermediary for corruption.

The case in question is a case bearing the number 262 / Pdt.G / 2018 / PN Jaksel.

The case was registered on March 26, 2018 with the parties, namely the plaintiff on behalf of Achmad Achmad and the defendant Williem J.V Dongen as well as the defendants of PT APMR and Thomas Azali.

The civil lawsuit consists of the cancellation of the PT CLMR acquisition agreement for PT CLM by the South Jakarta District Court.

The bribes were paid in rupees worth Rs 150 million and S $ 47,000. However, both judges have just received about 150 million rupees.

At the same time, the $ 47,000 that Singapore gave to the two judges via Ramadhan was confiscated by the KPK during a manual arrest operation.

Iswahyu, Irwan and Ramadhan have now been named suspects and detained by the KPK.
