JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Election Oversight Council (Bawaslu) decided that it was not proven that the candidate of candidate number 02, Prabowo Subianto, was breaking the rules of the campaign by giving the term "boyolali look".

Referring to research and reviews, the Election Oversight Body stated that Prabowo's remarks did not contain any element of insult. The investigation into the alleged violation of the campaign was therefore stopped.

This decision was declared in an official notification concerning the report published by Bawaslu and announced on Tuesday (27/11/2018).

"Yes, the investigation has not been continued," said Bawaslu Commissioner Ratna Dewi Pettalolo, confirmed Thursday (29/11/2018).

According to Ratna, the statement of "Boyolali look" put forward by Prabowo was not part of the campaign activities, but the inauguration of the Prabowo-Sandiaga victory post in the Boyolali regency.

This declaration can not therefore be described as insulting in campaign activities.

"The participants who were part of the party group carrying the pair of candidates 02. The statement was not described as insulting in campaign activities," Ratna said.

Prabowo, has not violated Article 280, paragraph 1, letter c and Article 521 of Law No. 7 of 2017 on Elections.

The article regulates the prohibition made to participants or campaigning teams to carry out campaigns containing insults against someone, a group, or any other person. a religion, race or other participants in the elections.

Prabowo Subianto was reported to the election monitoring body for insulting Boyolali residents during his campaign.
