Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – The XVIIth Muhammadiyah Youth Congress chose Sunanto or usually called Cak Nanto as winner of the greatest number of votes in the election President of the Muhammadiyah Youth Center (2018-2022).

Sunanto has been elected president of the Muhammadiyah Youth General, replacing Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak that has expired.
Cak Nanto won the most votes with 590 out of 1,196 voters.

Sunanto is currently Deputy Secretary of the Central Board of Management Education, Muhammadiyah (2015-2019).

Apart from the Muhammadiyah organization, Cak Nanto was reportedly secretary of the regional executive board of the Indonesian National Youth Committee of Central Java (2007-2009) and secretary of the Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI) ( 2011-2014).

Regarding his vision and his mission as a candidate for the post of president of the PP of the youth of Muhammadiyah for the period 2018-2022, he wanted to build the youth of Muhammadiyah given the noble ideals of Muhammadiyah, which defends the interests of the people and the nation. According to him, Muhammadiyah has given freedom to participate in politics, but in a personal capacity, not institutionally.
