BANGKAPOS.COM–The Bank of Indonesia (IB) still accepts the exchange of banknotes of different issues of the years of issue in 1998 and 1999 until December 30, 2018.
The banknotes have a nominal value of Rp. 10,000 in 1998, Rp. 20,000 in 1998, Rp. 50,000 in 1999 and Rp. 100,000 in 1999.
As is known, as at December 31, 2008, BI had revoked and removed the aforementioned bank notes.
For people who have tickets with fractions and the year of issue, there is nothing to worry about, as they can still redeem their tickets with the relevant tickets.
"If people want to exchange money (this can be done by the IB office or the IB representative office throughout Indonesia)," said the director of communication of the BI, Junanto Herdiawan, at Kompas.com on Wednesday (28.11.2018).

According to the information in Regulation No 10/33 / PBI2008, it is stated that after 31 December 2018, the public can no longer claim to exchange the aforementioned banknotes.
As is stated in Article 4 of the BI Regulation, the right to require the exchange of revoked and withdrawn tickets, referred to in Article 2, does not apply. Is no longer valid for ten (10) years from the date of revocation or 31 December 2018.
In addition to the information, the notes listed above are declared invalid as legal tender since December 31, 2008.
