The HIPMI president's joke about why not support the sport

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Bahlil Lahadalia, president of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), announced his political support for the 2019 presidential election. Bahlil supports the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates number 01, Joko Widodo-Ma 'ruf Amin.

He even joined the Jokowi-Ma's national campaign team (TKN).

When asked why he was supporting Jokowi-Ma's ruf and not in favor of pair number 02, Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno, Bahlil replied jokingly.

Bahlil was more favorable to Jokowi than Sandiaga, even though Sandiaga was the general chairman of HIPMI 2005-2008 or the predecessor of Bahlil.

Bahlil also made jokes when asked why he preferred Jokowi. He added that contesting the elections next year was the presidential election.

Therefore, Bahlil prefers to support the presidential candidates, not the vice presidents.

"In the law, there are legislative elections and presidential elections.There is no presidential election (vice-presidential election) Yes, I support Pak Jokowi, the HIPMI cadre who is the presidential candidate is only him, "said Bahlil.

"The HIPMI group does not want the vice president, the presidential candidate, the vice president is number 2. We already have number one, why is this number two," he added.

However, he added that HIPMI was not a political organization. His support is personal support, without the name HIPMI.

As for a number of entrepreneurs who supported Jokowi-Ma's ruf, Bahlil found it because many of his colleagues considered that the Jokowi government was actually building Indonesia.

"We know that our economic growth is based only on the island of Java, and now with infrastructure, economic growth has spread to the entire region," he said.
