Jakarta – PLN customers can finally use the rooftop solar power plant after the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has released its rules. They can save up to 30% on their electricity bills thanks to rooftop solar power plants.
"At least we can save 30%," said Rida Mulyana, General Manager of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, at the office of the South Jakarta Electricity Branch, Wednesday (28/11/2018).
Customers can save money because the surplus energy generated by the PLTS roof can be exported to PLN. Surplus electricity is recorded on the PLN network and used as a cost deduction for the following month. Thus, the electricity bill will be much cheaper.
It should be noted that the exported electrical power does not have the same capacity. For example, exported for 200 kWh, this is multiplied by 65%, which equals 130 kWh. This is what will be used to reduce electricity bills.
Rida explained why only 65% is calculated, as 35% is used for electricity storage services on the PLN network.
"What is exported in PLN, 65%, why? The electricity supply is included in the same transport facility. The period during which the customer uses the transport does not pay in PLN. It's like saving (in electricity), "he said.
Previously, director of the New and Renewable Energy Directorate of the Energy and Mineral Resources Branch of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said Harris, a part of the exported electricity was not valued in money.
"We will export to PLN later, it will not be considered money, but also in the form of kWh, so that what is exported is stored for a subsequent reduction of bills, such as a deposit", a- he explained. detikFinanceTuesday (27/11/2018).
