Jakarta (ANTARA News) – WhatsApp Vice President Chris Daniels confirmed that WhatsApp will soon be showing ads in the app.
This seems to respond to speculation in September that Brian Acton, co-founder of WhatsApp, revealed that Facebook's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, had a monetization plan of the service by order even before the end of the process. ;purchase.
Cited in Phone Arena on Thursday, WhatsApp has confirmed that ads will soon be coming into the WhatsApp Status feature, clbadified as "primary monetization mode" and will become a way for businesses to "reach WhatsApp users".
As Facebook still insists on encryption on WhatsApp, these ads will not collect any data directly from the app.
However, the ad will be supported by its own Facebook advertising system which shows that Facebook can connect registered phone numbers with Facebook's profile data to offer targeted advertisements.
It is unclear when this announcement will be launched for users, but iOS would be the first to receive it. However, the ad will probably be sent to the Android app soon after.
According to Facebook's latest financial report, WhatsApp now has more than 450 million daily active users.
