New speculation is mounting that fan favorites Zelda: Twilight Princess HD and Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will arrive on Nintendo Switch later this year.
While February’s Nintendo Direct was surprisingly light on Zelda-flavored news – scroll down to see what we did find out, in case you missed it – some are hinting that there is more to come for Zelda fans, including a tweet from an industry reporter suggesting that the Wind Waker and Twilight remasters Princess are coming to Nintendo Switch in 2021. Both have already been remastered for the Wii U console, and a Switch re-release is long overdue.
“For those who are disappointed with the Skyward Sword remaster, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are coming 100% this year,” journalist Andy Robinson tweeted after Direct’s last presentation. “So it’s at least a good 3D Zelda.”

2021 is the 35th anniversary of the Zelda series, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see more games revealed later in the year.
Tired of rumors? Here are some facts about Zelda for you …
If you missed it, the Nintendo Direct had no news on Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, or, apart from the confirmation that an update to the game would arrive later in 2021.
But we found out that a game from the Wii era of the series was planned: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is coming to Nintendo Switch on July 16, and you can preorder it now.
Nintendo also announced that Zelda will honor the Switch in another way, with a new Joy-Con design. The right Joy-Con has a purple hue inspired by the Master Sword, while the left is a true blue with red accents, following the classic Hylian Shield color scheme. You can pick them up from July 21.
