Indycar has revealed a protective Aeroscreen that will be added to its cars next season.

The device was developed jointly with Red Bull Advanced Technologies and essentially combines a three-point Formula 1 titanium Halo frame with a polycarbonate screen.

IndyCar is looking for a solution for the safety of the driver since the death of Justin Wilson, injured by debris at Pocono Raceway in 2015.

MARIO ANDRETTI TALKS ABOUT FOX AUTOS NEWS ABOUT THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS INDY 500 WIN:

The low glare screen is equipped with an anti-fog heating element and the load capacity of the device is 150 kilotons. A cockpit cooling system is also being developed to work with the cockpit.

"IndyCar has always been at the forefront of driver safety," said Scott Dixon, five-time defending champion of the IndyCar series. "They are constantly researching and evaluating what needs to be done – it's something they've accomplished over the course of history, if you look through the different eras since motor racing has started more than 100 years ago. "
