Netflix has released new images and synopsis for their upcoming horror anime series titled Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, based on Capcom’s popular video game franchise. The official synopsis for the series reads as follows:

In 2006, there were traces of misuse of secret presidential files found in the White House network. US Federal Agent Leon S. Kennedy is part of the group invited to the White House to investigate this incident, but when the lights suddenly go out, Leon and the SWAT team are forced to take down a horde of mysterious zombies. . Meanwhile, TerraSave staff member Claire Redfield encounters a mysterious image drawn by a young person from a country she has visited, while giving her support to the refugees. Haunted by this drawing, which seems to be a victim of a viral infection, Claire launches her own investigation. The next morning, Claire goes to the White House to ask for the construction of a wellness center. There, she has a chance to find Leon and takes the opportunity to show him the boy’s drawing. Leon seems to realize some kind of connection between the White House zombie outbreak and the bizarre drawing, but he tells Claire that there is no relationship and leaves. Over time, these two zombie outbreaks in distant lands lead to events that shake the country at its very core.

Additionally, the streamer also announced the main voice cast for the series with Nick Apostolides and Stephanie Panisello, both of whom are known to fans as the voice actors of the 2019 reimagined. Resident Evil 2 and will return to their roles as Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield of the hit title.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will be a horror action series based on the stories of the franchise’s two popular characters, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. By adding suspense in dynamic action scenes, Netflix says the series will reveal a resident Evil world unlike anything seen before.

The series will be produced and overseen by Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who is responsible for bringing numerous titles into the resident Evil series in existence. TMS Entertainment will produce the series, while Quebico, directed by Kei Miyamoto, producer of Resident Evil: Vendetta, will be in charge of the full production of 3DCG animation.
