“We were at home, me and my wife, Julia’s mother, when the hospital called to break the news. We took a flight and at midnight we were in Curitiba. She died around 1:00 am” , said Jerônimo Onofre, from Julia. stepfather, said G1.
According to the Brazilian newspaper Time, Julia was taken by a fire helicopter to an area hospital, but suffered cardiac arrest and died.
Her husband Daniel was also taken to a local hospital, where he underwent shoulder surgery. Onofre said Daniel was unaware of his wife’s death, and family members told him when he woke up from the surgery.
“Daniel is in shock, crying a lot, not believing what happened. They were very united and in love,” Onofre told G1.
“We’re sorry, in shock, a very difficult time,” Onofre told G1. “We are suffering.”
