In February 2018, we announced the expansion of the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris Marvel, Star Wars and Frozen theme areas, a new lake being the focus of entertainment experiences. This will connect each of the three new areas and bring one of the most ambitious Disneyland Paris projects to fruition since it opened in 1992.

Today, we have a little more information on how this lake would play an important role in the expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park. While major construction is expected to begin by the end of the year, Disneyland Paris has revealed new details regarding its future expansion, which will include a lake that will become the largest natural stage of Walt Disney Studios Park.

Walt Disney Studios Park Expansion

Imagine shimmering water with lakeside walks, tastefully landscaped shorelines, waterfront restaurants and impressive views. A 3-hectare lake should become the new recreation center at Walt Disney Studios Park – and it promises to be impressive.

More than a landscape icon, the lake will serve as a unique entertainment stage with a 360 ° viewing area. It will be equipped with the latest technologies to provide exciting shows based on water, with fountains, music and lights, special effects that are sure to delight guests.

"This new outdoor development will add to the beauty and immersion of Walt Disney Studios Park, while providing the ideal central stage for both daytime shows and nighttime shows. It will completely rejuvenate the park experience, "said David Wilson, site portfolio manager at Euro Disneyland Imagineering, the division that designs and develops themed areas and attractions for Disneyland Paris.

The lake will also serve as a gateway to the new thematic worlds that will surround it. A space inspired by the famous animated film Frozen will become the lighthouse of the extension of the park, with the reconstruction of the famous port of Arendelle at the foot of a mountain 40 meters high. Nearby, Star Wars fans will live their own adventure in a region dedicated to a very distant galaxy. Both areas will be complete experiences, each featuring not only a major attraction, but also a restaurant, shops and opportunities for encounters of character.

Similar to Disneyland Park, the development will be complemented by a high landscape perimeter berm that will help mitigate the potential impact on the surrounding area.
