Instagram Tears Off Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Account Over COVID Vaccine Claims

Instagram said on Wednesday that it ripped off Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s account for making false claims about the COVID-19 vaccine.

“We have deleted this account for repeatedly sharing debunked claims about the coronavirus or vaccines,” a spokesperson said.

The leading anti-vaxxer had 800,000 subscribers on the platform when his account was banned.

Recently, he falsely linked the death of legendary baseball player Hank Aaron to the COVID-19 shooting, while claiming there had been “a wave of suspicious deaths among the elderly” who had received the vaccine.

Kennedy’s Facebook page was still live on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for Facebook, which owns Instagram, said the company does not automatically deactivate accounts on all of its apps because users can post different things on different platforms.
