Install the updates now to resolve a vulnerability in most Intel processors

If you have a computer using an Intel processor released since 2011, then congratulations – you have probably gained a vulnerability because only the 8th and 9th generation Core processors as well as the 2nd generation Xeon Scalable processors have hardware protection against the attacks.

Correcting the holes will require a combination of firmware updates and software updates. MacOS, Windows, ChromeOS and Linux already have software updates to deal with MDS attacks, while Intel has also released firmware updates for some of its components (PDF) that you should obtain from motherboard and system vendors.
