Instructions for Developers – Connect with Apple & # 39; have been updated with exemptions, the deadline for the application of the rules for children is extended

[ad_1]

Apple today announced an update of some of its new guidelines for developers. Changes have been made to the rules for the latest kids apps and the new "Connect with Apple" feature.

Apple has detailed the updates in new publications on its developer site today. First, he shared the implementation timeline for Sign in support with Apple before highlighting four exemptions.

We have updated the App Store review instructions to define the criteria in which applications must use the connection with Apple. As of today, new apps submitted to the App Store must adhere to these guidelines. Existing applications and their updates must follow them by April 2020. We have also provided new instructions for using the connection with Apple on the Web and other platforms.

The new guidelines include four exemptions and come after Apple has seen a certain decline in its expectations vis-à-vis developers implementing the new feature.

The connection with Apple is not required if:

  • Your application uses only your account setup and connection systems.
  • Your application is an educational, business or enterprise application that requires the user to connect with an existing educational or business account.
  • Your application uses a citizen identification system or a government or industry supported electronic identifier to authenticate users.
  • Your app is a customer of a specific third-party service and users must connect directly to their email account, their social media, or to another third-party account to access their content.

After announcing new development restrictions for children's apps in June and set for Sept. 3, Apple is giving developers six more months to update their apps to comply with the new guidelines.

Guidelines 1.3 and 5.1.4 detail the important rules for apps in the Kids category and we are working with some existing application developers to help them transition to full compliance with this important guideline.

All new applications must follow these instructions and we encourage you to update your existing applications as quickly as possible. If your existing application requires more time to implement these guidelines, we have provided you with an additional six months, until March 3, 2020, to make it fully compliant.
