Apple talked to Samsung and MediaTek about using their 5G modems in this year's list of iPhones, according to Reutersbut it is unclear whether these discussions resulted in concrete agreements. While it remains with Intel, Apple's first iPhone 5G could arrive more than a year after some of its competitors embarked on the sale of compatible 5G phones.
Samsung unveiled its first 5G phone this week and the Galaxy S10 5G is expected to be released in the coming months. We will certainly learn more about Mobile World Congress 5G phones over the next week as well.
