Bottom line: Those interested in Intel i9-9900K processors can purchase the processor-less version of the graphics card for about $ 50 less than the standard processor for a limited time. With Amazon Prime Day just around the corner, though, some may want to wait and see if larger discounts are received. Is it worth risking waiting? It's up to you to decide.
In January, Intel launched the Core i9-9900KF, an 8-core / 16-thread processor that is essentially no different from the 9900K standard, except that it does not include embedded graphics. If you are already thinking of pairing it with a capable graphics card, you would not need an integrated graphics processor and save money, right? Well, not exactly.
As PC Gamer points out, Intel has awarded the chip a price close to the standard 9900K. So there was no reason to buy it … until now.
The Intel Core i9-9900KF currently only costs $ 439.99 on Amazon. That's $ 50 less than the standard price of 9900K, which makes it an attractive offer that may be too good for some.
Built on a 14-nanometer process, the Core i9-9900KF features a base clock of 3.6 GHz with a maximum Turbo frequency of 5.0 GHz. It contains 16 MB of cache and a TDP of 95W.
Our own leader, Steven Walton, thoroughly analyzed the i9-9900K at the end of last year for those interested in evaluating how the processor manages productivity and gaming workloads.
