JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Intel Corp. unveiled Tuesday its latest processor, the first to use artificial intelligence (AI), designed for large computing centers.
The chip, developed at its development site in Haifa, Israel, is called Nervana NNP-I or Springhill and is based on a 10-nanometer Ice Lake processor that will enable it to cope with high workloads while consuming a minimum of of energy, said Intel.
Facebook, he says, has already started using the product.
Intel said its first artificial intelligence product would come after investing in Israeli startups, including Habana Labs and NeuroBlade.
