Family declaration

We are sorry to confirm that the remains of Savannah were found overnight on the property of a Garrard County home. Our sobs of pain and physical anguish meet moments of our beautiful memories of the vibrant and living person that she was. She lives through her precious boys, who each carry a special part of her. We know that Savannah has not suffered all this time. She was cradled in the arms of our great savior, Jesus Christ. As we shouted to him by the unknown, we continue to cling to him with the pain and sorrow of the coming truth. As difficult as the last six months have been, the truth about what happened that January night will be even more painful. We fought a very public fight and now we have to withdraw and mourn privately. We plan to close this page tomorrow morning and ask the media to also respect our need for confidentiality. We could not have done it without the 35,000 people on this page who followed, shared, prayed, searched, donated and defended their interests. You have kept Savannah's silent voice on our side in the fight for the truth. You kissed a stranger with empathy and compassion. Many of you have adopted it into your family as one of yours. Thank you. Thanks to those who provided the advice that gave us the closure. It took immense courage and bravery to defend the truth. Thank you. At Inspector Fraze and Inspector Scott of Richmond Police, you put your whole heart into the fight for Savannah. We are always grateful for your passion for the answers, for your perseverance in protecting the business, your dedication and your hours of work. Thanks to Richmond PD, Garrard County PD, KSP, FBI and all the other local LE agencies who have been involved in this business. Thanks to Sal Grasso for his help during this last attempt at answers. As KSP takes the reins now, we pray that justice will be done by everyone involved. Thanks to the professional groups who advised us, cried with us and looked for Savannah. Cajun Search and Rescue Team, Texas Midwest Chapter Eqqusearch, LostNMissing, The Aware Foundation, Missing Case Network, and many other teams that have collaborated on the ground and online. Thanks to Kim Gipson, Grace Prater, Toni Robinson and all our other local researchers who spent hours on the ground fighting for Savannah. Thanks to the local and national media who raised the public awareness week after week. We appreciate your efforts so deeply. The amount of support and love that you have all shown to our family is amazing. Around the world you have been #SavannahStrong. God has an extraordinary way of connecting people through a tragedy. We are grateful for these new links formed. For the small number of people who have had bad intentions in this process, we pray that God will meet you and forgive you for hurting Savannah and our family. As this part of the process ends for us, we continue to pray and defend the other families of missing people who are still waiting. We pray for perseverance through the unknown. We pray for the courage to fight for their loved one, worthy of being found. Savannah, we love you so much. #RestinHeaven #SavannahStrong
