iOS 13 dark mode leaks and other WWDC 2019 predictions

Today we round the summit iOS 13, MacOS 10.15 and WatchOS 6 rumors and preview all the changes that your Apple devices could see in the coming months, with nothing else Apple could surprise us at WWDC 2019. We are also looking at Apple's latest product launch: the new Seventh-generation iPod Touch, who seemed out of nowhere this week.

Dark mode leaks and everything we think we know about iOS 13

According to rumor, iOS 13 will bring great design changes this year, with a brand new home screen, an alternative color scheme and potentially new fonts to choose from.

This week, 9to5mac has got some screenshots of what the supposed dark mode on the iPhone would look like. Depending on the publication, you have two options to activate dark mode: switch between settings or press a new button in your control center for easy access. MacOS Mojave Apple introduced the dark mode on Macs last year. At the developer conference a few weeks ago, Google also announced a new mode Android Q.

It is not only the interface that is undergoing changes. According to a recent Bloomberg report, many of Apple's native applications are also undergoing redesign. According to some rumors, the Messages app would get a makeover in the WhatsApp style with profile pictures and status updates, a new Swype style keyboard similar to the Google Gboard, as well as a function of Cancellation which would allow you to go back in time and cancel the changes when typing. And it would not be an iOS update without some new features Animoji and Memoji, which Apple would also need to strengthen in iOS 13.

Maps, Mail and Reminders apps are also expected to have minor updates. And the Find My iPhone and Find Friends apps could merge into one, according to the 9to5mac report.

Apple pushes health features in iOS and WatchOS

The Apple Health app is another application that could experience a major overhaul. According to rumors, the app would have a new home page that would put your most relevant health data at the forefront, giving you a more complete insight into your daily statistics and your progress over time. It can also bring new tracking features, such as hearing health, which determines the volume of your music and the level of ambient noise you are exposed to, as well as a time tracking feature, which monitors the cycle menstrual of the woman. It is also said that tracking periods comes on the Apple Watch as a standalone application called Cycle. Fitbit and Garmin already have this feature in native on some of their portable devices.

iOS 13 could introduce a better sleep mode as part of this health-promoting effort, combining the new dark mode, the existing "Do not disturb" feature and the "Clock" app to optimize sleep time and perhaps usher in a new era of sleep monitoring. The iPad could have more than a computer

IPhone users requesting more multitasking features may be disappointed with this series of updates. The only rumor that circulates about watching videos in the image, but that's it.

You can expect MacOS and iOS to have a bit more synergy within WWDC.

Will MacOS 10.15 provide universal applications?

If the rumors are true, WWDC 2019 could bring us closer to a complete integration between iOS and MacOS. We have already seen more native iOS apps appear on Apple computers and we expect this trend to continue.

Guilherme Rambo and Stephen Troughton Smith, two famous Apple leaks, said MacOS 10.15 would bring applications dedicated to music, podcasts, TV shows and books on Mac. Basically, it breaks the tabs of iTunes without completely getting rid of iTunes as parent ship.

But perhaps the most important change is the one that most of us, average users, will not see immediately. According to rumors, Apple would have opened its multi-party framework to third-party developers so that they could not start migrating their iPhone applications to Mac, which would require them to use a touch screen or a mouse.

Apple Watch could finally have its own app store

Perhaps the most important feature of WatchOS 6 could be a standalone application store for Watch, if the rumors are true. Apple Watch users currently have to download an app to their iPhone before they can appear on the watch. This initiative would help make the watch even more independent of the iPhone and could possibly live on its own.

We have already reviewed some of the health status updates expected on the Apple Watch with the update to WatchOS 6, but there could be more. We were able to see a new application called Dose that would remind users to take their medication.

We are also expecting new surveillance surfaces with this update, as well as new complications from which to choose, as in previous versions.

New iPod Touch and other products that Apple could have in the works

At the Apple Developer Conference, the hardware is not a given, but if we get something, it would most likely be a new Mac Pro. Apple had promised an update of this machine in 2019, and it would be a good time to show it. The next event is the iPhone event in September, which seems less likely, then perhaps an event for October.

Or it could be a surprise version with no launch event, like what Apple recently did with its new MacBook Pro and iPod Touch.

After a four-year hiatus this week, Apple has finally refreshed its iPod Touch range. The seventh generation camera looks a lot like the last one with a four-inch screen, to those wider glasses and that physical touch button without Touch ID.

The difference with these iPod Touch models is under the hood. They have the latest Apple A10 Fusion chip, which means they are now powerful enough to support ARkit and Group Facetime. And there is an option of 258 GB, a first for an iPod.

And although the lack of new features may seem a little disappointing, at least the price has remained the same. The cheapest 32GB model costs $ 199 and rises to $ 399 for the 256GB version.
