iOS 14.5 will provide a great excuse to buy an Apple Watch: support for Face ID masks

In an era when everyone wears a mask, Face ID has become a problem for iPhone users – now they constantly need to type in their passcode to unlock their phone. It has been reported that the iPhone 13 lineup will get in-display fingerprint sensors, but there’s no need to wait (or upgrade).

Apple is trying to fix this issue right now by adding a feature in the upcoming iOS 14.5 update that should allow iPhone owners to use Face ID while wearing a mask. This next installment of Apple’s mobile operating system is now in developer beta and will be publicly rolled out in the coming weeks.
