iOS 15 beta 3 modifies controversial Safari overhaul with new address bar and reload button

One of the biggest changes coming with iOS 15 is the new Safari, which has been completely redesigned with a new tab experience and, for iPhone users, a new address bar as well. Although the update has been controversial due to its drastic change, Apple is still trying to improve the interface.

This time around, iOS 15 beta 3 still brings up the Safari address bar at the bottom on the iPhone. With previous beta versions of iOS 15, the Safari address bar was already displayed at the bottom of the screen. However, once you tapped on it, the bar appeared at the top of the screen which confused some users.

The updated Safari interface in the third beta of iOS 15 makes this experience more consistent, although it’s not exactly what many users expected. Now when you tap the address bar on iPhone, it stays at the bottom of the screen just above the keyboard.

Apple has also updated the list of results shown on screen, which now makes it easier to see which websites are from web searches, bookmarks, or your personal history. However, for iPad users, there are no noticeable changes in Safari with the third beta of iPadOS 15, which was also released today for developers.

Another subtle change is the addition of the Reload button when you hold down the address bar, as the button has been removed from the main interface.

iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 will be released this fall. Users can now install beta versions through the Apple Beta software program.
