Pre-orders for the iPad mini 6 opened right after the “California Streaming” event, with the first orders arriving on September 24th. If you’ve been waiting today to try to pre-order one by next week, you’ll probably have to wait until at least the second half of October to receive it from the Apple Online Store.
According to Buckles Dark Mark and confirmed by 9to5Mac some older shipments of the iPad mini 6 are now postponed from October 19 to November 2.
If you try to pre-order the iPad mini 6 Space Gray with 64GB of RAM and Wi-Fi only, it is expected to ship 4-6 weeks from launch. On the other hand, if you fancy the new color Rose, you can still get it by September 24.
All 256GB iPad mini 6s with Wi-Fi + Cellular also have an expected delivery date of 4-6 weeks after launch. It is not known whether these shipping estimates are due to popularity or to supply shortages.
The point is, this tablet was arguably the star of the “California Streaming” event. With a redesign and a new 8.3-inch screen, it follows the iPad Air 4 and puts Touch ID on the top button.
It is also the only iPad with the A15 Bionic chip. For the first time, iPad mini 6 now supports second-generation Apple Pencil, as do enhanced cameras. The main camera has 12MP and can record videos in 4K while the front camera has an ultra-wide lens with Center Stage capabilities.
