You might not have to wait any longer for a (arguably belated) redesign of the iPad mini. As 9to5Mac learned, BloombergHistorically accurate Mark Gurman claimed in his latest “Power On” newsletter that the revamped little tablet “should be used” for a fall launch. While Gurman hasn’t shared more details on the design, he has previously claimed that Apple will drop the home button and offer slimmed down bezels – it could indeed be a shrunken iPad Air.
This will be the “biggest redesign” of the iPad mini since the arrival of the first model in 2012, Gurman added.
The reporter maintained that Apple is still developing a “bigger and redesigned” replacement for the 27-inch iMac that will include a future generation of Apple Silicon, although there are no further details.
The iPad mini has seen little change since its launch. Even the basic iPad has undergone more changes over the same period. With that in mind, Apple might not have much of a choice – it’s as much about catching up with modern design as it is about revitalizing sales.
