IPad mouse support in iOS 13 will solve ergonomic issues

Being in school, I know the iPad since the first day. I've owned just about every iPad over the years (Original, 2, 3, Mini, Air, Mini 4, 10.5 Inch Pro, 12.9 Inch Pro and 11 Inch Pro). I have deployed thousands of iPad since 2010 and have worked with countless students and teachers to use the iPad in class. I know l & # 39; iPad. I can explain the good and I can speak evil. I know people who use the iPad full time, and I know people who in use use the iPad. It seems that iOS 13 is going to be a A large for the iPad, so I'm excited. There has recently been talk of the mouse's support of mouse support on the iPad as an accessibility feature in iOS 13, which is good news for me.

Personally, I have always wanted to use only the iPad, but I always felt that the touch was slower than the use of a trackpad or a mouse. I am also faced with the ergonomics of using the iPad (even the pro) for long periods.

If you stick to the way Apple projects the iPad Pro, you'll want to use the smart keyboard. If I use an iPad Pro with a smart keyboard for more than an hour, my neck and my back start to hurt me. It's just not ergonomic for my body. In my office, I use a Jarvis desk with various Twelve South accessories to get my laptop to the ideal height. I want to be able to watch both screens without having to bend my head. This configuration is not possible with iOS because the iPad does not currently support the mouse. You must keep the iPad close enough to you to reach the screen.

IPad vs. Voice vs Touch Mouse Stand

For long periods of use (3+ hours), I find that the use of touch devices creates pressure on my shoulders. I really prefer a trackpad that can live right next to my external keyboard. This is not a complaint against iOS, however. It is a complaint against the use of a touch operating system for long periods. In my opinion, the touch has its place, as well as a mouse / trackpad. I think the next decade will see a variety of input methods, and they all serve a purpose. The voice has its place. Touch has its place. A mouse pointer also has its place. An operating system that will last over the next decade must work with everyone (macOS, I'm looking at you too).

Good dual monitor support

Although you can connect the iPad to a projector / TV, we still do not support dual monitor. The 2018 iPad Pro has brought some new features (the iMovie editing bay for example), but I'd like to see extended dual monitor support with mouse support. I want to be able to open different applications on a second screen with which I can interact and drag the content back and forth. I know that some people can live from one screen to another, but I see tremendous productivity gains by having two screens side by side. The iPad mouse support would make it a convincing case of use.

pack

The mouse support for iPad and the real support of two monitors would solve many ergonomic problems of iPad for my professional use. As a person who stays at an office most of the day, I pay a lot of attention to getting up and occupying positions that will not cause repetitive stress injuries. Looks like WWDC 2019 is going to be fun!
