IPhone 13: stylish color options and a new design could be revealed at the Apple event on September 14

When Apple hosts its events, the iPhone line sometimes gets something from a new color to a complete overhaul of the design. Although we do not yet know what Apple prepares its September 14 event, we expect the rumor iPhone 13 line could debut with four models of phones. Although these four will likely follow last year’s iPhone lineup To include a base iPhone 13, Mini, Pro, and Pro Max models, there is still potential for supposed changes like a smaller notch, thicker camera bump, or color options.

Based on rumors and leaks published so far, we don’t expect a major design change for the iPhone 13 – it will likely be quite similar to the iPhone 12 in terms of models, camera size and the price. But there are a few notable changes and upgrades that could make using the iPhone 13 a lot easier. Here is what we currently know.

IPhone 13 sizes

Here are the rumored sizes of the iPhone 13:

• iPhone 13 Mini: 5.4 inches
• iPhone 13: 6.1 inch
• iPhone 13 Pro: 6.1 inches
• iPhone 13 Pro Max: 6.7 inches

These sizes are the same as the iPhone 12, but may end up being slightly thicker (more below).

A smaller notch

Apple has included a notch screen on every iPhone since the iPhone X 2017, as a location for the selfie camera. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted in March that iPhone 13 will have a smaller notch than its predecessors.

We may have gotten a preview of an iPhone without a notch during an episode of the popular Apple TV series Ted lasso. In two brief scenes from Episode 6, we see a notchless iPhone running iOS. Some believe that the phone in question could have been the iPhone 13. But one should not hope too much. Despite the buzz generated by the shots of the phone, this is more likely a CGI imperfection in post-production than a glimpse of Apple’s new iPhone.

The same Lightning port (for most iPhone 13 models)

While the headphone jack is a thing of the past for iPhones, some had predicted that the rise of MagSafe accessories last year meant that the next iPhone would be portless. However, Kuo predicts that all iPhone 13 models will still include a Lightning port, with the exception of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 could also be completely buttonless, but this change is more likely on a later version.

120 Hz display

In March, Kuo also predicted that both iPhone 13 Pro models would use LTPO technology in their displays to 120Hz refresh rate, which we have also heard in previous rumors. The number of hertz that a phone screen is capable of displaying refers to its number of frames per second, which determines how fast and smooth the screen is as you scroll through apps and web pages. It also affects the smoothness of supported games.

Many people were expecting to see the 120Hz refresh rate in the iPhone 12, because some high-end phones, including the Samsung galaxy s21 and the OnePlus 8 Pro, have this feature. On Twitter, technical analyst and leaker Jon Prosser asserted the decision not to implement 120Hz in the iPhone 12 pro was made due to battery life issues as 5G consumes a lot of battery on its own. But it will probably be less of a problem in the iPhone 13.

Bigger battery

All four iPhone 13 models will have larger batteries than their iPhone 12 counterparts. according to Kuo. This would support the 120Hz display.

Thicker width and a camera bump

The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro models could end up being thicker than their iPhone 12 predecessors, according to a report by May MacRumors. The two new models are expected to be 7.57mm thick, compared to 7.4mm in the iPhone 12 models. But that’s a difference most people probably won’t notice.

More notable could be a change in the camera bump, MacRumors reported: While the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro will have camera bumps of around 1.5mm to 1.7mm, the iPhone 13’s bump will be 2.51mm and the 13 Pro’s will be 3.56 mm. The increased size will prevent the lenses from sticking out as much as on older phones.

A photo of leaker Sonny Dickson on Twitter in late June showed the alleged design of all four models, with the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini camera bump showing two lenses located diagonally.

iPhone 13 colors

We haven’t seen a ton of reliable leaks involving the iPhone 13’s potential colors. The iPhone 12 comes in six colors: deep blue, mint green, Project Red, white, black, and most recently purple. Apple typically replaces one color for another in its newer models, but we don’t know what that will be yet.

Apple could add a new color, called “Sunset Gold” to the iPhone 13 lineup, according to leaker Ranzuk on Naver, a Korean blogging platform. The color is said to have a “bronze feel” and is slightly less pale than Apple’s rose gold. The renders of the new color of the iPhone 13 were posted on Twitter by @RendersbyIan.

Earlier in the year there was talk of a pink iphone 13, and while there is certainly potential for this color, this “rumor” sounded more like wishful thinking. Rumors of a new matte black color also circulated online this spring, as EverythingApplePro reports on YouTube, courtesy of leaker Max Weinbach.
