After a visually impaired man fell on the rails of Broadway station on June 29, three pbadengers quickly descended to save him.

At the TTC Board of Directors meeting at Toronto City Hall on Tuesday afternoon, all three were recognized for their work. It was the first time that Kyle Busquime, Jehangir Faisal and Julio Cabrera had met since their rescue.

After a brief speech by Mayor John Tory, who congratulated them for their altruistic act, they all three received a PRESTO fare card. For next year, the trio will go to TTC for free.

The ceremony was a big surprise for Faisal, who comes from Ireland. Until recently, he said that he had no idea that someone was trying to identify him and wished him good luck.

"My neighbor called and she told me:" Oh, you meet the mayor today ", recalls Faisal with a smile.

Despite all the viral attention, the heroes said that they only did what was right. Still, Busquime said it was nice to be included in a positive story after hearing so many negatives this summer.

"It's really nice to be part of a good story that can connect with people," he said, adding that the world could be a better place if more people took the time to help each other.

Despite all the attention paid to their actions, men admit that they have not heard of the state of the man they precipitated to save.
