A remorseful thief seeking to redeem himself for his childhood behavior contacted a supermarket that he stole 43 years ago.
The Belle Vale Mall in Liverpool said on Facebook that his faith in humanity had been restored.
"I stole two chocolate bars from Woolworths in your mall in 1975, when I was a little boy," the newspaper notes.
