Dubliners are invited to turn to the skies on Saturday night as the Royal Air Force Red Arrows fly over the Liffey River.
The 11 jet planes are expected to fly along the Liffey River at about 7:50 pm Saturday in anticipation of landing at the Casement airfield in Baldonnel.
The Red Arrows, one of the world's top freestyle display teams, will arrive in Ireland to participate in the Bray Air Display Sunday. The plane will fly in formation across the downtown skies and create an audible signature during flights, the Irish Aviation Authority said.
The Talbot memorial bridge is expected to provide the best view of the aircraft at the time of its overflight. They will fly past the chimneys of Pigeon House before crossing the bridge to the west, go up the Liffey towards the Four Courts, then inland towards Baldonnel.
The RAF Red Arrow Acrobatic Team is made up of pilots, engineers and support personnel who fly Hawk fast planes. The team has been displaying acrobatic skills since 1965 and has also participated in operational tours in Libya and Afghanistan.
