A national public consultation currently being organized by the Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Gaeltacht offers local communities such as Kilcullen the opportunity to be heard in the management of our heritage. written Brian Byrne.
the Heritage Ireland 2030 The consultation asks groups and individuals to submit their proposals under three themes that will form the basis of a national heritage protection plan over the next decade.
This includes developing an effective heritage policy and regulatory framework that respects the beauty and irreplaceability of our built heritage and its habitats.
Heritage partnerships with other national and community groups will be an essential part of the plan to ensure that national and local heritage is valued, protected and valued.
The ministry says it is committed to listening to and respecting the voices of communities in development Heritage Ireland 2030and will help and support local initiatives to take care of their heritage.
Submissions can be done in three ways. An online survey is available here. The department can also be emailed to [email protected]. And the submission can be made by mail to the Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Gaeltacht, Custom House Dublin 1, D01 W6XO.
