The train services linking Dublin to the west were significantly disrupted this morning as a result of an incident on the Athlone-Clara line.
On Friday, November 16th, Irish Rail confirmed that the 9:25 am Galway to Heuston train struck the cattle near Athlone, causing significant disruption.
Accuracy: 09:25, Galway Heuston hit cattle near Athlone. Major disruption of Galway / Westport services is expected. Update to follow
