Authorization granted to redevelop a former U2-owned warehouse in Dublin

The authorization of redevelopment of a warehouse building in Dublin Docks belonging to U2 in a new office building was granted.

The listed building at 30-32 Sir John Rogerson's Quay was originally known as Tropical Fruit and was put on sale in May 2016 as an office by Principle Management Ltd. from U2 She also managed all the European fan mail for the band.

Iput Propety Fund, which has a portfolio of 2.3 billion euros of commercial real estate focused on Dublin City Center acquired the property end of 2016 for a little more than 20 million euros. Designed by Henry J Lyons Architects, the new development will have over 70,000 square feet of six-story office building at the back overlooking an existing public plaza.

Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter and should be completed by the end of 2020.
