A Bilborough teenager and spider owner offered to take baby tarantulas thrown away yesterday because they do not deserve to be thrown away this way.
Brazilian bird eaters were found in abandoned pots beside a car parked at Bateman's Yard Stable, at Somercotes, near the Nottinghamshire border.
But two of the big pots were crushed by a vehicle and the RSPCA think that adult tarantulas – which have a wingspan of 10 inches – may have escaped
Jake Harrison, 16, of Bilborough, who owned four tarantulas, said that they were not aggressive but "daring" and that they would rather retire rather than fight

19659007] "J & # 39; would like to take these tarantulas because they do not deserve to be left like that and that they can not stay with the RSPCA forever, "he told the Post. "I have had experience with tarantulas and I have enough space and equipment to accommodate them. Plus, they are great pets when you know what you are doing.
"They are good at watching and when they feed"
He added that they were growing up quickly and that adults were burrowers, so they might have been buried.
But he was not surprised to hear that they had been thrown away because people sometimes take spiders. Louise Gee, 39, said about her spider-owning son: "At first we did not like the idea, but it did a lot of research about them, so we knew it
"We told him to keep them in his room and to ensure that they never escape."
The RSPCA agreed that it was likely that they were unwanted animals. Potential owners of tarantulas should do their research before buying.
The spider babies were taken to Arnold a Carlton Veterinary Center in Nottingham where they will be treated until they are ready to be re-housed.
